The services we provide include fiber shredding, processing, and complete dismantling of protective clothing.
Law Enforcement, Military, and Fire Departments:
Here at Global Fiber Recycling, LLC, we understand that wearing innovative personal protection is a vital part of dressing for survival. What do agencies do when their protective clothing becomes obsolete, expired, or no longer useful? These types of materials should not go to a landfill for disposal.
Global Fiber Recycling, LLC offers a safe, efficient, and secure method for disposal. All protective clothing is dismantled to the core Aramid fibers and recycled through our network.
We recycle the following materials:
- Ballistic Vests – Kevlar®, Twaron®, and Zylon®
- Fire Suppression – Nomex®
- Agency Uniforms – All buttons and patches are removed to ensure security. The uniforms are then recycled to make other materials.
All ballistic vests, fire suppression suits, and agency uniforms are accepted free of charge. All materials can be mailed to us by common carrier. Agencies are responsible for all shipment charges via mail. For large volume shipments in Ohio, transportation can be provided at no cost. For stations outside of Ohio, please contact us for transportation availability.
All departmental ballistic vests and fire suppression suits shipped to our facility are required to be accompanied by a Fiber Destruction and Recycling Certificate (FDRC). This certificate acts as a Chain of Custody (CoC) document. The FDRC tracks the shipment, receipt of goods, and final destruction of products. When products are destroyed, the FDRC is completed and mailed back to the organization or company.
Please go to the CONTACT US tab to request a Fiber Destruction and Recycling Certificate (FDRC).
